Markus Obereder
Markus Obereder studied (instrumental) music education, choir and orchestra conducting with Walter Hagen-Groll at the Mozarteum University and at Louisiana State University, USA. He attended master classes with Eric Ericson, Peter Gülke and Martin Sieghart and Jorma Panula. As a choir director and conductor, he was able to gain experience with the Salzburg Bach Choir, Salzburg Chamber Choir, Juvenis Choir, Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra, ÖENM, ensemble sonare, South Bohemian Philharmonic Orchestra, the orchestra and the choirs at the Musisches Gymnasium Salzburg and with musical personalities such as Cecilia Bartoli, Leopold Hager, Ivor Bolton, Johannes Kalitzke, Howard Arman, Rene Jacobs, Benni Schmid and Bobby McFerrin work together. Markus Obereder teaches at the Mozarteum University (choir, conducting, choir and ensemble direction, subject didactics, …) and conducts one of the choirs of the Department of Music Education.
He is in charge of the symphony orchestra at the music high school in Salzburg and has given concerts in Italy, France, Germany and India. Obereder is director of the International Choir Seminar at Schloss Zell/Pram. As a singer and instrumentalist, he can also be found in the so-called ballast substance orchestra, which gives concerts in German-speaking countries and has recorded several ORF CDs.
