Function of the Guidelines

Based on a broad opinion-forming process, these guidelines were developed by the University Council in 2000-2002 and last updated by the Rectorate in the summer semester of 2010. They serve the future-oriented self-definition of the University Mozarteum Salzburg. The guidelines are intended to:

  • provide information on the fundamental objectives of the University
  • contribute to the identification of students, teachers and general university employees with the University Mozarteum Salzburg
  • define the need for action as clearly as possible

Implementation is the responsibility of all members of the University Mozarteum Salzburg. It is the responsibility of the university management to promote or demand appropriate measures for implementation, to evaluate them regularly and, if necessary, to make it its task to further develop the guidelines.

As an artistic, pedagogical and scientific center, the University Mozarteum Salzburg today fulfills regional and international tasks in equal measure. These are distributed among the various departments and institutes dedicated to artistic disciplines and pedagogical/scientific tasks, with 14 departments located in Salzburg and one in Innsbruck.
