On January 20 and 21, the Thomas Bernhard Institute, in cooperation with the Department of Scenography of the Mozarteum University, presented Philoktet by Heiner Müller, Gaia in a version by Till Ernecke and The Bacchae by Euripides, three directorial works on the theme of classical music at the Theater im KunstQuartier.

Dionysos. Madness pours upon my lovely face Could Dionysus be a queer trans* deity? What if their companions simply do not conform to any norm and are not mad at all? Cat Jugravu's performance DIONYSOS. MADNESS POURS UPON MY LOVELY FACE invites us to reinterpret the myth as a manifesto for otherness and queerness. With the Maenads - the dissident entourage of Dyonisos - the audience tries to approach a life without the norm in ritual, dance and rave.

Jin, Jiyan, Azadiˆ - زن زندگى آزادى - Zan. Zendegi. Azadi. With the solidarity event "Woman_Life_Freedom" in the framework of "Practicing Care", the Mozarteum University wants to contribute to maintaining public attention on the criminal machinations and the "state-sanctioned killings" (according to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights) of the Iranian rulers. At the same time, we want to convey an impression of the concerns and diverse forms of protest, which is supported not least by countless artists.

Research funding for Salzburg Creative Computing A great success for the PLUS, the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, the SALK and the Mozarteum University: The Ministry of Education, Science and Research has now approved research funding of three million euros for, among other things, Salzburg Collaborative Computing (SCC), a new high-performance computer for the universities of the Salzburg region that will usher in the research world of tomorrow.

Participants in the vocal category 39 singers from 15 countries competed for the International Mozart Competition of the Universtiät Mozarteum in the vocal category from February 10 to 16, 2023. A program highlight was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the IGNM, which was celebrated in 2022. The final took place on February 16, 2023 in the Solitär.

Awards of the Research Competition Mozarteum 2022 And the Winner Is ... the Mozarteum 2022 Research Competition has been decided! This year's award for particularly successful artistic-scientific research proposals goes to Heike Henning for her collaborative project proposal "Rethinking and Innovating Choral Musicking in the Digital Space", which is currently being prepared for submission to the Austrian Science Fund FWF in cooperation with the University of Liechtenstein and the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences.
