In addition to the Pre-College, the Mozarteum University has its own Gifted & Talented programme that promotes the advancement and personal development of highly gifted children and teenagers and provides them with guidance and support. The aim is to identify musically gifted children and young people and to provide individual, intensive, sustainable support as they explore and develop their own artistic personality.
The work of the institute includes organising events inside and outside the university, preparing and mentoring students participating in international competitions, cooperation with international festivals, organising international concert opportunities, establishing contacts with agencies and other such institutions, and documenting students’ activities and success.
As well as encouraging and promoting the talents of musically gifted children and young people, the institute is dedicated to providing adequate counselling and conducting case-study research. The academic work and publications focus on the areas of music teaching and learning; topics range from the development of musical competences and personality development to artistic pedagogy and support strategies for musically gifted children and young people.
