Andreas Macco
After teaching and singing studies at the music academies in Stuttgart, Frankfurt and Vienna, Andreas Macco was from 1991 firmly engaged at the theaters in Hanover (after winning a singing competition at the local opera), Frankfurt and Bonn. In 1994 he began to make guest appearances internationally. Often in Italy, in Bologna, Rovigo, Pisa, Brescia, at La Scala in Milan, in S. Carlo Naples, Rome, Arena di Verona, Maggio Musicale in Florence. Also in Tokyo, Zurich, Lyon, Rouen, Moscow, Riga, Donetsk, Athens, at the festivals in Bregenz, Salzburg, Bayreuth, the Ruhrtriennale. The bass-baritone has been a freelancer since 2004.
His repertoire ranges from Monteverdi operas to Mozart's Sarastro, Leporello, Don Giovanni, Komtur, Don Alfonso, Hoffman's stories (Crespel and villains), Gounod's Mephistopheles, Golaud, to Wagner's Dutchman, Wotan, Gurnemanz, Pogner, to Verdi's Filippo II., Conte di Walter, to Vodnik/Aquarius (Rusalka),animal tamer/athlete, Lulu, Berg and many others A total of 60 games. In the concert halls of Vienna (Konzerthaus and Musikverein), Moscow (large hall Tschaikowsky-Konservatorium), Leipzig (Gewandhaus), Dresden (Kreuzkirche), Berlin (Philharmonie), Montreal (Festival La Lanaudiere), Taipei, Amsterdam (Concertgebouw) , Rome (Sala Santa Cecilia), Salzburg (Gr. Braunschweig, La Fura dels Baus, Achim Freyer, etc. Since 2010 Andreas Macco has been a university professor for solo singing at the Mozarteum University. He held master classes in Kaunas, Lithuania and at the International Summer Academy Mozarteum.
