Mirjam Elisabeth Leitner

Mirjam Leitner is a Senior Lecturer at the Orff Institute for the areas of ‘Music and Dance in Inclusion and Diversity’, ‘Community Music’ and ‘Instrument Making’. She is a member of the MTID (Music and Dance in Inclusion and Diversity) specialist group, the ‘Inclusion and Diversity’ working group and teaches on the university courses ‘Music and Dance in Social Work and Integrative Education’ and ‘Advanced Studies in Music & Dance Education - Orff-Schulwerk’.
She trained as a community artist, music and dance teacher, theatre teacher, kindergarten teacher and yoga teacher and initiates and leads community arts projects in Salzburg. She also specialises in the use of elementary string instruments in music education. She gives courses in Austria and abroad and was honoured with the ‘Hubert von Goisern Culture Prize’ in 2019 for her artistic and social commitment.
