Chris Yi-Yi Wang

Chris Wang began his professional career at the Opera Graz, where he danced as a guest soloist and dancer in dance productions as well as an ensemble member of the Ballet of the Opera Graz between 2010 and 2018 under the ballet directors Darrel Toulon and Jörg Weinöhl. Since 2014 he has been more intensively involved with dance education as an integrative and inclusive work - with the social aspect of dance, since March 2021 Chris Wang is a Senior Lecturer for Dance at the Orff Institute.
Chris Wang received his stage dance training at the Music and Arts Private University of the City of Vienna. He worked as a freelancer with numerous renowned international and Austrian choreographers (including Jérôme Bel, Natalia Horecna, Nikolaus Adler, Helge Letonja). He continued his studies in dance pedagogy at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz. He has been working with dance in a social context since 2009 with danceability austria, moving interaction and within the framework of Tanz die Toleranz der Caritas. Chris Wang sees dance education as an intersection between art, education and research. He is a PhD candidate at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna as well as in the MAS Dance Science program at the University of Bern.
