Christoph Pepe Auer has been a lecturer for jazz and pop at the Mozarteum University since 2015. Among other things, he is the founder of the label and artist collective "Session Work Records", which has been in existence since 2007 and has released around 300 musicians and meanwhile 130 CDs of the Viennese and international jazz scene. The label has meanwhile developed into the largest active jazz label in Austria.
Christoph Pepe Auer studied at the University of Music in Graz, Vienna and Stockholm and graduated with honors in "Saxophone - Jazz", which he completed with the cultural management course "Art & Economy” added. Numerous tours have taken the 'Newcomer of the Year' (Hans Koller Prize) all over the world, including to the Forbidden City Hall (Beijing) and The Jazz Standard (NYC). He has worked closely with the percussionist and has produced CDs Manu Delago ( Living Room ) , with strings from the London Symphony Orchestra and the Jazz Big Band Graz.
With his own project "White Noise" (CD presentation October 2019), Auer took a new stylistic direction. The project's acoustic instruments (with a focus on the bass clarinet) are electronically processed, alienated and doubled. For example, a drum sequencer was built from the smallest sound units of the bass clarinet. The purpose was always to expand the acoustic signals with the possibilities of electronic music production, and thereby create a new sound pattern.
