Elisabeth Winter has been teaching at the Landesmusikschule Kufstein and at numerous courses since 2003, she is a lecturer at the Woodstock Academy and at the Intertational Horn Days Telfs. Since 2023 she has led the horn class at the Tyrolean State Conservatory in Innsbruck and is a lecturer at the Mozarteum University Salzburg in the Department of Music Education in Innsbruck.
Elisabeth Winter (*1983 in Kitzbühel) received her first horn lessons at the age of nine. After graduating from music high school and studying instrumental pedagogy in Innsbruck with Prof. Hansjörg Angerer and Prof. Marco Treyer, she switched to the Viennese horn in 2003 and studied concert music with a focus on music physiology at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna as well as a master's degree in instrumental pedagogy with Prof. Roland Berger and Prof. Thomas Jöbstl. She completed both programmes with distinction in 2009.
She was a finalist at the Gradus ad Parnassum competition in 2003 and multiple 1st prize winner at the national Prima la Musica competition. From 2004 to 2006 she was accepted into the European Union Youth Orchestra. 2007 saw her first engagement in the Klagenfurt Symphony Orchestra. From 2008 to 2023 she was 2nd horn player in the Vienna Volksoper Orchestra.
Guest engagements with the Vienna Philharmonic, the Kammerphilharmonie Wien, the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, the NDR Elbphilharmonieorchester Hamburg, the Tiroler Festspiele Erl, the Haydn Orchester Bozen and the Tiroler Symphonieorchester Innsbruck, among others. Elisabeth Winter is a member of the brass quintet Brass Soloists.
