Elisabeth de Roo studied song and oratorio at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and property and facility management at the University of Applied Sciences in Kufstein. With her play "Kein leichtes Mädchen. Käuflicher Liederabend", she addresses a sensitive topic and tries to encourage people to discuss it. 

On 15 June, choral conductor Yoshihisa Matthias Kinoshita will be holding a workshop on the topic of "Voice training with children - attitude in children's choir conducting" at the Department of Music Education in Innsbruck, organised by the Centre for Choral Education Research and Practice (ZECHOF) - participation is free!

As part of the International Summer Academy and numerous masterclasses, the renowned American pianist, teacher, Mozart researcher and Harvard professor Robert Levin has been a regular guest at the Mozarteum University for many years. From May, he will take up his teaching position at the Department of Keyboard Instruments. We are very much looking forward to it!

The presentation concert of the scholarship holders of the newly created ensemble scholarship A (one-year) Start Up for Ensemble(s) took place in the impressive ambience of Schloss Leopoldskron at the beginning of April. On April 4 and 5, 2024, the 24th "Music Didactics Austria" conference took place at Frohnburg Castle of the Mozarteum University in cooperation with the Salzburg Education Directorate and the Salzburg University of Teacher Education. With the first edition of the new interdisciplinary ORA Early Music Festival, the Mozarteum University is celebrating a special premiere. Over three days, early music, contemporary musical language and improvisation come together in numerous concerts and sound performances.

Ziyu He was one of the youngest soloists in the Vienna Philharmonic when he made his debut at the Musikverein under Adam Fischer in 2017 at the age of just 18. The year before, he won both the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg and the Yehudi Menuhin Competition, and in 2014 he was the Eurovision Young Musician of the Year. He is a violinist with the renowned Altenberg Trio.

The Ö1 Talentebörse Composition Prize worth 10,000 euros is awarded every two years by Ö1 and the Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB) and will be awarded for the ninth time in 2024/2025. The composition prize is a composition commission for a chamber music work, which may also include electronics.

On 29 February, the Mozarteum University hosted a special meeting on the topic of "music teacher shortage" for the first time - numerous representatives of important musical institutions from Upper Austria, Salzburg and Upper Bavaria sat down together to discuss the current situation and develop sensible measures.

The guitar department of the Mozarteum University is starting spring 2024 with an extensive programme: students in the classes of Andrea De Vitis and Laura Young have the unique opportunity to showcase their talent at concerts in Italy, which are made possible as part of an Erasmus collaboration with the renowned Boccherini Conservatory in Lucca (Tuscany).
