New MA for Open Arts

In October 2025, Mozarteum University will launch a new Master's programme in Open Arts that is unique in Austria. The Master's programme is inter-, trans-, multi- and even non-disciplinary in nature and is aimed at students from all subject areas who want to break down disciplinary boundaries in their artistic practice and open up new paths in the long term. Registration for admission runs from 1 February to 28 March 2025.
The Master's programme focuses on artistic practice, which is individually co-supervised and mentored by teachers from the entire Mozarteum University. The flowing exchange between the arts, sciences and society is given central importance. Students thus qualify for the development and development of areas that are currently developing or will develop in the course of the challenges of our time in relation to social, ecological and technological change.
The course extends over four semesters, during which students work continuously on their projects and reflect on and further develop them in dialogue with lecturers and students.
At the same time as the start of the new Master's programme in Open Arts, the opening of the Mozarteum University's new location at the Kurgarten and the X-Reality-Lab located there will create a unique infrastructure that opens up opportunities for students, researchers and developers to experiment on a project basis and, in particular, to include the field of immersive and interactive art.
The Mozarteum University is thus focussing on free study and new fields of activity in order to enable innovative approaches and help shape our future.
