Professionalization of children and youth choir directors

Children's and youth choirs are currently experiencing an enormous upswing in German-speaking countries. More and more, the qualifications of children's and youth choir directors as well as the contents of training courses are becoming the focus of research interest. This study includes a competency model based on expert interviews and a comparative study of training curricula. It summarizes necessary steps for the professionalization of children's and youth choir conductors and identifies measures for the (further) development of relevant training courses.
