Patrick Puls

Patrick Puls lives and works as an art and cultural mediator in Vienna and Salzburg. Since 2014 he has been a lecturer at the Department of Scenography.

Patrick Puls studied at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Economics at the University of Vienna and at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna.

From 2001 to 2023, he worked as a certified art and cultural mediator at the Museum Moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien. From 2004 to 2007, he worked as a development aid worker in Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger. 2009 to 2014 lecturer at math.space in Vienna's Museumsquartier, 2011 to 2014 art mediator for the Generali Foundation, in the course of which the Generali Foundation collaborated with schools and the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna on art and art mediation projects.

Since 2014, he has been a lecturer at the Department of Scenography at the Mozarteum University, teaching the courses ‘Bildbetrachtung und Bildanalyse’, ‘Kunstgeschichte 03’ and ‘Kunstgeschichte 04’. From 2018 to 2022, Patrick Puls worked as an art and culture mediator for the Q21/Museumsquartier Wien, from 2019 to 2023 he designed interdisciplinary mediation formats for the Museum Moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien in cooperation with the mathematics forum ‘TU ForMath’ of the Vienna University of Technology, as well as in cooperation with the Institute for High Energy Physics (HEPHY) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.

In 2023/2024, he moderated the lecture series ‘Possibilities and Challenges of Aesthetic Education’ at the University College of Teacher Education Styria and was a guest lecturer on feminist art of the 20th century at the Institute for Journalism Studies at the University of Vienna.
