Florentine Klepper
Florentine Klepper studied theatre and opera directing in Zurich and Munich. Since 2004, she has worked as a director at renowned German-speaking theatres such as Staatstheater Kassel, Staatstheater Braunschweig, Oper Frankfurt, Bühnen Bern, Staatsoper Stuttgart, Oper Graz, Theater Freiburg, Salzburg Easter Festival and Semperoper Dresden. Since 2024 she is a university professor for Music Drama Performance at Mozarteum University.
From 2009 to 2011, she was in-house director at the Basel Theatre and also worked at the Stuttgart and Karlsruhe State Theatres and the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg. In 2018, she made her debut in France at the Opéra de Dijon.
Her interests in musical theatre include both the classical repertoire and contemporary music. She has directed at festivals such as aDevantgarde, Festspiel Plus and the Munich Biennale and has staged world premieres of music theatre works by Moritz Eggert, Jörg Widmann, Arnulf Herrmann and Felix Leuschner, among others.
