Maximilian Bauer

Senior Lecturer for clarinet / Representative for the cooperation with Land Tirol - Landeskonservatorium InnsbruckDepartment Music Education Innsbruck

Maximilian Bauer taught clarinet and general music at the Music School of the City of Innsbruck from 1985-1992. He also founded and directed the Big Band of the Music School of the City of Innsbruck. Since 1992 he has been teaching at the Tyrolean State Conservatory in the main subject clarinet as well as the subjects didactics and teaching practice clarinet, since 2001 he has been a lecturer in these subjects at the University Mozarteum at the Department of Music Education Innsbruck.

In the social cultural context, Maximilian Bauer has been involved for over 30 years as choirmaster of the Birgitz community and chairman of the Association of Friends of Music and Culture Birgitz. Maximilian Bauer is also a certified mediator.

Maximilian Bauer studied at the music academies in Graz, at the Mozarteum University in Innsbruck and at the Tyrolean State Conservatory in the subjects clarinet (teaching qualification and diploma with distinction in Graz) and singing (teaching qualification at the Tyrolean State Conservatory). He was a multiple prize-winner at Jugend musiziert and in 1983 received the Würdigungspreis of the Federal Ministry of Science and Research. 1985-2006 he was clarinettist in the Tyrolean Symphony Orchestra Innsbruck. In addition to his orchestral and teaching activities, he has performed as a soloist and chamber musician with the Tiroler Kammerphilharmonie, the Innsbrucker Kammermusikvereinigung, the Innsbrucker Serenadenensemble, the Innsbrucker Bläsertrio, the Tiroler Symphonieorchester Innsbruck and the Thai National Orchestra in Bangkok.

2006-2009 he was artistic coordinator of the Department of Music Education Innsbruck. In 2006 he habilitated in the artistic main subject clarinet. Since the beginning of the cooperation between the Tyrolean State Conservatory and the Mozarteum University in 2006, he has been the cooperation officer of the Tyrolean State Conservatory within the IGP program.
