Heidelore Wallisch-Schauer

MA

Heidi Wallisch-Schauer teaches at the Mozarteum University, at the University Mozarteum Innsbruck and at the Tyrolean State Conservatory. She is currently one of the most important representatives on the hammered dulcimer. Her passion for the instrument inspires her across genre boundaries to create past, present and her own music.

Heidi Wallisch-Schauer studied dulcimer, salterio, early music and historical performance practice at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz with Karl-Heinz Schickhaus and August Humer. The colorful array of concert partners, such as Franui, the roma barocca ensemble, the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, musica fiorita, the Tennkoglmusi, the Ensemble Vita & Anima, the Austrian Ensemble for New Music, NeoBarock, the Salzburger Hofmusik or the Concentus Musicus Wien as well as the two formations KultUrig (with Alexander Maurer) and lila house (with the jazz guitarist Thomas Wallisch-Schauer) bear witness to their innovative and yet informed dealing with music. Their venues include the Brucknerhaus in Linz, the Festspielhaus in Salzburg, the Konzerthaus in Vienna, the Munich Philharmonic and the Vienna State Opera.
