Raimonda Žiūkaitė's Opera "Salt is My Heritage" is Stage Work of the Year Raimonda Žiūkaitė's opera composition "Salt is My Heritage" was chosen as the Work of the Year in the category of stage works by the Composers' Union of Lithuania. The work was performed by Lidia Luciano (soprano), students of the Mozarteum University and the œnm under the direction of Félix Marest. The premiere took place on October 28, 2021, as part of the Crossroads Festival. It was directed by Giulia Giammona and the libretto was written by Franz Jäger.

Pianist Robert Bily wins The Sir Ian Stoutzker Prize 2022 Five finalists competed for the coveted 20,000 euro The Sir Ian Stoutzker Prize 2022 (made up from 2021) at the Solitaire of the Mozarteum University yesterday (14 April). The evening's double winner was pianist Robert Bily, who enchanted both the high-calibre jury and the audience with a breathtaking interpretation of Ludwig van Beethoven's Waldstein Sonata (Piano Sonata No. 21 in C major op. 53), Claude Debussy's Images I and Siegfried Thiele's Perpetuum Mobile.

Based on "Bernarda Alba's House," Federico García Lorca's drama that has been performed most frequently around the world to this day, the 4th year Drama and Directing class, under the direction of Anja Herden, will deal in "¡Los Bernarrrdá's!" with being trapped, hysteria, fear of life, and the longing for freedom as a primal human drive, and will tell of people who are both victims and accomplices of their own oppression.

Vivi Vassileva and Richard Putz win Prix Iannis Xenakis Our students Vivi Vassileva and Richard Putz are the winners of this year's Prix Iannis Xenakis. The prize, established by the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival in cooperation with the percussion class on the initiative of Martin Grubinger, promotes young percussion soloists and is intended to pave the way to the major concert halls and international music festivals. The participants had to conceive an extensive solo recital concert and present it in front of a 6-person jury.
