Image+ Platform for Open Art Education
"IMAGE+ Platform for Open Art Education" is an Austrian image and image research platform to improve the quality of teaching and provides a comprehensive repository of high quality digital image reproductions of artistic works. The project is anchored at three art universities in Linz, Salzburg and Vienna, the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) and the documentation platform of Austrian art "basis wien", which ensures the direct interleaving of image data with current research.

The images in IMAGE+ are enriched with high-quality metadata, the work information is scientifically secured. IMAGE+ is available to teachers and students at the participating universities and research institutions, and artists and art education graduates can use the database for their daily work and for ongoing training. The connection to the art universities guarantees the direct interweaving of the image data with current research. By linking with other research information systems (CRIS) of the universities, a hitherto unique connection between scientific research and image data is opened up. This not only makes extensive image holdings accessible, but also installs and makes accessible a best-practice model for cooperation with other institutions in the art world, especially archives, museums and documentation platforms.
