European Network of Visual Literacy
ENViL is creating the prototype of a "Common European Framework of Reference on Visual Literacy" (CEFR_VL). This reference framework describes competences that European citizens must have in the field of visual arts and applied arts (architecture and design) as well as visual everyday culture if they are to participate in culture and society as responsible citizens.
Program
Comenius Lifelong Learning Program of the European Union
Lead-Partner
Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg
Project Partners
MOZ, AHK, ELTE, JLU, LKCA, PH Vienna, UNA, EUF, Uni Passau, ZCU
Collaborator: Franz Billmayer
Duration
01.01.2014 to 31.03.2016
The reference framework is integrative, incorporating various European concepts where they are considered meaningful in the context of European values. The framework describes areas of competence based on a competence structure model and will indicate levels. Intermediate steps and results will be presented at congresses (especially InSEA) and discussed with the professional community.
At Mozarteum University, everyday situations will be examined for visual competencies that are necessary to cope with them. From this, general competence formulations are derived. In addition, Franz Billmayer is a member of the coordination committee.
