Erika Frieser Chamber Music Days 2021
In three one-hour concerts with duos, trios and quartets, the Erika Frieser Chamber Music Days are dedicated to the compositional work of women, which is still underrepresented in concerts. Teachers and students of the Mozarteum University Salzburg interpret works by Amy Beach, Sofia Gubaidulina, Louise Farrenc, Henriëtte Bosmans, Johanna Doderer and others.

Moderation: Iris Mangeng Erika Frieser (1927-2011), the project's namesake, was professor of piano and chamber music at the Mozarteum from 1973 to 1995. in 1946, the first prize-winner in the Radio Frankfurt competition made her debut at the Salzburg Festival with the Vienna Philharmonic under Erneste Ansermet. In addition to diverse appearances as a soloist under renowned conductors such as Clemens Krauss or Othmar Suitner, Frieser devoted herself more and more to chamber music: for example, as a member of the "Vienna Trio" with Beatrice Reichert and Christa Richter-Steiner, as a long-standing duo partner of Gerhard Mantel or as a pianist in the "Beethoven Trio" with Rudolf Koeckert and Gerhard Mantel PROGRAM: May 15, 2021, 7:00 p.m. - Concert "DUO"
