Award of Excellence for Elisabeth Eder On December 14, 2022, Elisabeth Eder, a teacher and researcher at the Department of Music Education Salzburg, was awarded the state prize "Award of Excellence" for the 40 best dissertations in Austria in the Aula der Wissenschaften in Vienna.

Veronika Loy wins The Sir Ian Stoutzker Prize 2022 - Voice The Sir Ian Stoutzker Prize, launched at the Mozarteum University in 2019, has produced six winners! In the spirit of interdisciplinarity and inclusion, the selection process was open to all students of the Mozarteum University for the first time. The outstanding winner of the evening is the soprano Veronika Loy.

Benjamin Britten: Albert Herring After A Midsummer Night's Dream and Owen Wingrave, the Department of Opera & Music Theater at the Mozarteum University will once again devote itself to Benjamin Britten's abysmal music-theatrical oeuvre. This winter semester, two of his masterpieces will be performed: Albert Herring in December 2022 will be followed by The Turn of the Screw in January 2023.

Participants in the vocal category 39 singers from 15 countries competed for the International Mozart Competition of the Universtiät Mozarteum in the vocal category from February 10 to 16, 2023. A program highlight was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the IGNM, which was celebrated in 2022. The final took place on February 16, 2023 in the Solitär.

Participants in the String Quartet Division 7 string quartets with musicians from a total of 14 nations, including 14 people from South Korea as the strongest represented nation, will compete for the International Mozart Competition 2023 in the string quartet division from February 3 to 9, 2023. The program highlight is a work by a living composer.

Christmas carols Sing Along with 150 pupils Since October 2022, the Moz-Art-Zone has been offering an interdisciplinary music and art education program that arouses enthusiasm and interest among students and opens the doors of the university wide for this purpose. On November 30, 2022, the first large Christmas Carol Sing Along choir concert took place with 150 Salzburg students.

With Dylan on the Road - Bringing it all back home Inspired by the polyartist Bob Dylan and his approaches of appropriation and transformation, nine artistic-explorative teams of two from the Mozarteum University were on the road in South Africa, the US, Mexico, Europe and Latin America during the first half of 2022. The results are nine art projects that will be premiered on October 14 and 15 as part of Jazz & The City, accompanied by a symposium "Inspired by ... commemorating 60 Years of Bob Dylan.".

Selection procedure for singing of The Sir Ian Stoutzker Prize The Sir Ian Stoutzker Prize of the Mozarteum University was offered for the first time in 2019 and annually honors a student personality who knows how to convince with musical creative power, poetry and a unique charisma. The sponsor of the highly endowed award (20,000 euros) is the successful British businessman and philanthropist Sir Ian Stoutzker, who founded the organization Live Music Now together with Yehudi Menuhin in 1977.
