Opera out of Opera 2 Continuation of Opera out of Opera: Don Giovanni in Rome, Così fan tutte in Porto, Le nozze di Figaro in Stockholm and La Bohème in Oslo and Salzburg. What began in 2018 under the project title Opera out of Opera will be continued across Europe from 2023 to 2025. Co-funded by the European Commission's Creative Europe program, Opera out of Opera II builds on the results of the first project period - with the aim of developing innovative opera formats for new target groups.

Herbert von Karajan Prize to Oscar Jockel The prestigious Herbert von Karajan Prize, worth a total of 50,000 euros, has been awarded for the 6th time this year as part of the Salzburg Easter Festival. The prize winner is, among others, the composer and conductor Oscar Jockel, who was featured in the celebrated production "Westbam meets Wagner".

5th Zhuhai International Mozart Competition for Young Musicians Application until 7 May: The competition was launched by the Mozarteum University in 2015 and is aimed at young musicians under the age of 23. It focuses on their virtuosity, their understanding and their interpretation of classical music. The orchestra of the competition is the Salzburg Chamber Soloists.

1st prize for Santiago Sánchez Six finalists competed for the coveted prizes in the vocal category at the 15th International Mozart Competition on February 16, 2023 in the Solitär of the Mozarteum University. The 1st prize goes to Santiago Valentín Sánchez Barbadora, the 2nd prize to Chelsea Marilyn Zurflüh, and the 3rd prize to Dániel Foki.

15.2.2023Leonard Bernstein Award 2023 for Vivi Vassileva
The Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival honours percussionist Vivi Vassileva with the Leonard Bernstein Award for outstanding young musicians. The award, which is endowed with 10,000 euros, will be presented at the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival in mid-July 2023.

1st prize for the Arete Quartet The first winners of the 15th International Mozart Competition have been announced. The 1st prize in the string quartet category and the traditional special prize of the Mozarteum Foundation for the best interpretation of a string quartet by W. A. Mozart go to the Arete Quartet, the 2nd prize to the Affinity Quartet and the 3rd prize to the Eden Quartet.

In addition to the successful master's programme in wind orchestra conducting, the Mozarteum University, as a competent partner of the Salzburg Wind Music Association, started the part-time university course in wind orchestra conducting for the first time in March 2019, financed by the province of Salzburg.

Veronika Loy wins The Sir Ian Stoutzker Prize 2022 - Voice The Sir Ian Stoutzker Prize, launched at the Mozarteum University in 2019, has produced six winners! In the spirit of interdisciplinarity and inclusion, the selection process was open to all students of the Mozarteum University for the first time. The outstanding winner of the evening is the soprano Veronika Loy.
