Susanna Riebl,

Lecturer in Cello and Chamber Music

Born in Linz / Austria, she studied at the Vienna University of Music, at the University "Mozarteum" Salzburg and with William Pleeth in London.


She has given numerous performances as a soloist and chamber musician. 

As a member of the "Vienna String Sextet" (1979-2004) she has toured throughout the world, performing at most famous places such as the Salzburger Festspiele, the Vienna Musikverein, the Edinburgh Festival, the Berliner Festwochen, the Concertgebow Amsterdam, the Queen Elisabeth Hall and the Wigmore Hall in London and the Casals Hall Tokyo. She has recorded numerous CDs for EMI and Pan classics.


Her chamber music partners include Sabine Meyer, David Geringas, Radovan Vlatkovic, Angelika Kirchschlager and Juliane Banse among others.


Since 1985 she has been teaching cello (pre-college students and BA / MA in pedagogy IGP, A1, A2) as well as chamber music at the University Mozarteum Salzburg and has been given master-classes at the Internationale Sommerakademie Lilienfeld / Austria since 1994.


The use of Qi Gong and Eutony has been integrated in her teaching as an enhancement of the pedagogical progress; as a result  S. Ehn-Riebl has been very successful helping students in reducing physical pain and tension.
