Julia Antonovitch was born in Novosibirsk, Russia. She studied concert piano at the State College of Music N. A. Rimski-Korsakow in St. Petersburg with Nathan Perelman. This was followed by further studies at the Mozarteum University Salzburg with Imre Rohmann and artistic training as part of the international Bartók seminar in Szombathely, Hungary, in the master classes of Zoltán Kocsis and Imre Rohmann.  

She accompanied master classes from Marjana Lipovšek and Alfred Burgstaller and was the official accompanist at the International Mozart Competition. In addition, she participated in numerous productions of the Salzburg State Theater, the Chiemgau Opera Summer and the Laubach Opera Workshop. In 2007 she was engaged for the production Eugen Onegin at the Salzburg Festival (Barenboim, Breth, Mattei, Furlanetto, Samuil, Gubanova). This was followed by an invitation from Maestro Daniel Barenboim to the Berlin State Opera, where she has since been working as a solo repetitor for Russian repertoire. She has appeared in the new productions The Player (Barenboim/Tcherniakov), Eugen Onegin (Barenboim/Freyer) and Die Zarenbraut (Barenboim/Tcherniakov) and worked with many important singers, including René Pape, Rolando Villazón, Johannes Martin Kränzle, Anatoli Kotscherga, Kwangchul Youn, Anna Tomowa-Sintow, Olga Peretyatko and Kristīne Opolais

Since 1993 she has been working in the music theater department of the Mozarteum University Salzburg.
