Music Education in Salzburg
In the courses on music education as well as for teaching an instrument or singing, equal importance is attached to the art of mastering an instrument or the voice as to the art of teaching how to acquire these abilities. There is a balanced relationship on the course between artistic and music educational work in theory and practice. To complement the music educational training in Salzburg, the Mozarteum University has an external department in Innsbruck. In a contractual agreement guaranteeing the cooperation, the Mozarteum University allows students of the regional conservatories in Tyrol and Vorarlberg access to the European educational system according to the idea of the Bologna process. The project “Music educational research in Austria” creates networks and a systematic programme for music educational research in Austria.
