Eugen Maria Schulak

Eugen Maria Schulak taught for many years at the Department of Philosophy at the University of Vienna and is a lecturer in philosophy at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and the Johannes Kepler University in Linz. He is the author of 12 books, one of which has been translated into American and four into Chinese.

Schulak studied philosophy, psychology, education and history, gained a teaching qualification for secondary schools and obtained a doctorate in philosophy. During his studies and even later, he earned his living as a musician and as a producer of radio and television adverts.

In 1998, Schulak founded the Institute for Philosophical Counselling in Vienna, a consultancy specialising in philosophical issues. It offers seminars, lectures, philosophical cafés as well as individual and group discussions, focussing on values, ethical implications and questions of meaning.
