Dominik Gumpenberger

Lector in the field of technology / Design: Technology.Textile & Mittelbauvertretung-StellvertreterDepartment Fine Arts & Design
No matter what the technical context, Dominik Gumpenberger stands for perfection, optimization and dedication. The search for ideal solutions and the insatiable desire to learn have accompanied him since his earliest childhood. In his spare time, the father of two plays drums in a rock band, kites up the mountains in winter, is an avid photographer, cyclist and passionate explorer of the world.
Dominik Gumpenberger (1980*) studied technical work at the Mozarteum University and geography and economics at the Paris Lodron University in Salzburg. As a passionate inventor, he developed and manufactured innovative products early on, especially in the kite, surfing and outdoor sectors. As part of his student training and beyond, he conducted intensive research in product development in the field of fiber composite technology, especially in the design of lightweight components. The urge and desire to work across disciplines and experimentally with regard to material technology is evident in his works, which span the fields of architecture, design and technology. Craftsmanship and technical perfection paired with courage, innovative spirit and perseverance are elementary requirements for him to successfully materialize ideas. After teaching experience at various schools in the province of Salzburg, he has been teaching crafts and DAT (design, architecture, technology) at the WRG Salzburg since 2012. In autumn 2015 he returned to the Mozarteum University as a lecturer. There he teaches the subjects technical processes and scientific basics, materials laboratory and plastics in the GTT course (department of fine arts and design). In addition, he works as a functional assistant in project management.
